Hmm – many of the same people who don’t make a peep when the government put billions into GM and Chrysler – and hundreds of millions in Honda Canada and Ford – to produce cars that create emissions – are now outraged when the government invests billions in a pipeline.
Hundreds rallied against federal buyout of Kinder Morgan

To ensure it gets built, the Kinder Morgan Pipeline is now going to owned by the Federal Government. Basically becoming another Federal Government Utility. The question is, was it a good deal for taxpayers?

The prospect of something for nothing is so powerful most voters will pull the lever for the party offering the most “free stuff”. The huge amount of new spending offered in the Ontario election will probably do the trick. Voters will go for it to. Why? It won’t be them who actually has to write a cheque for it!

Two years ago political groups like the BCTF, the Council of Canadians, The Leap Manifesto crowd and media celebrities like Naomi Klein had managed to convince 75% of Canadians that Free Trade did not benefit Canada. Today, thanks to the moves of Donald Trump, that number has flipped around completely!
